An event every week that begins at 1:00pm on Thursday, repeating until June 15, 2017
“There was another life that I might have had, but I am having this one.” —Kazuo Ishiguro
The Rev. Anne Richards is leading a six-week series on “Wise Aging,” Thursdays from 1 to 2:30 pm in the North Room.
The group will explore ageism; loss, forgiveness, reconciliation and acceptance; our bodies and health; relationships; legacy; the spirituality of aging; and death. Discussions will focus on aging as a period of honesty, growth, liberation, and increasing intimacy with God and the self.
The program is open to everyone at Grace and beyond, regardless of age. Come to all sessions or come occasionally, but do join us and spread the word! Topics include:
Aging: Internalized ageism and denial vs. conscious and celebratory aging
The Inevitables: Experiencing loss, regret, remorse, and fear
Your Legacy: Moving toward acceptance of your life and your death
Going Home to God: Spiritual practices for growing older; prayer; the balance between resignation and joy
What Christians Believe About Death: Finally owning the Good News and doing a “life review”
Preparing For Your Funeral: Creating a good ending for life and a good beginning for eternity
